The National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI) announced their annual Spring Business Meeting and Contractor of the Year Awards celebration will be held at the Sheraton Austin Hotel at the Capitol from Wednesday, April 6th through Saturday, April 9th. Headquartered in Des Plaines, Illinois, NARI has 58 chapters nationwide and has enjoyed a sizeable growth period during the past decade. With a growing demand for renovated homes in Austin and one of the most active construction markets in the nation, the capitol city is the perfect place for the nation’s top professionals in the remodeling industry to gather and share ideas.
Attendees of the four-day event will have the chance to participate in CEU-eligible educational sessions on technology, sales, marketing and workforce development as well as hear from Peter Shankman and Preston Swincher, both immensely successful authors and keynote speakers. Attendees will also meet with remodeling peers from across the nation, discuss key issues during a panel discussion of remodelers/manufacturers and attend a half-day Chapter Executive Forum meeting.
“We chose a city that is home to a strong NARI chapter that has worked diligently to convey our core purpose to homeowners and the community,” said Fred Ulreich, CEO of NARI. “Our members in Austin are full-time, quality remodelers who uphold NARI’s standards of professionalism and ethics. Each year, the NARI Austin Chapter awards its Contractor of the Year for remodeling projects that stand out in the industry. Several of these chapter members have gone on to receive regional and national Contractor of the Year honors.”
Even though Texas has the highest amount of residential construction activity in the country, it is one of only 11 states that doesn’t require licensing or registration for general contractors and homebuilders. Through NARI, however, contractors have the opportunity to earn certification that sets them apart as highly skilled, educated, and expert remodelers. Today, Austin has 16 certified NARI remodelers in the Austin area and more than 100 NARI Austin member firms.
“We are thrilled to host the national NARI meeting here in Austin,” said Jeff Bullard, President of the NARI Austin Chapter and Owner of Avenue B Development. “We are one of the busiest remodeling markets in the country and have some of the most award-winning firms in the country, so it’s truly a great opportunity for NARI members from all over the nation to see the quality of the work done here in Austin.”
